Solutions Engineer

We are Sensorical and we are looking for the entrepreneurial solutions engineer who will form the core of our team and will lead the further development of a platform that brings the world of Internet of Things in an easy, reliable, comprehensive, and consistent manner closer to the retail customers. Together with founders you will form the technology strategy and drive the development for a smart and connected technology platform. As the Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for selecting and implementing proper technological stacks, solutions, tools and integrations into a combined technology solution that generates mutual revenue for both OEM vendors and solution integrators through a Marketplace for retail customers. This is a unique opportunity at Sensorical to play a highly visible role to develop and execute a technology platform in the IOT world. The Solutions Engineer will work closely with product development and operations to deliver product increments. This role reports to the CEO and the selected candidate will join a highly motivated and growing team charged with incubating and commercializing new IOT technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the subject matter expert in communication and IOT protocols;

  • Provide technical and thought leadership for the development and integration of new IoT solutions;

  • Use the development skills and be responsible for overseeing the quality design and build of an IoT platform based on AWS that will collect data from physical assets (i.e. range of Electrical chargers, warehouse utility vehicles, etc.) and enable analytics that drives operations;

  • Provide implementation experience with the design, implementation and operation of a full-scale IoT architecture from asset connectivity, to data aggregation and normalization, to integration to other enterprise technology systems such as the Web portals, back-office systems, etc;

  • Together with Product Managers do continuous researching, testing, and evaluating best-of-breed products for microelectronic hardware to be used by platform users. Continuously extend the library of the available devices. Facilitate all required tailoring of hardware and software part of such devices in order to make their usage as easy as possible for the retail customers and solutions integrators;

  • Together with Product Managers provide development and system engineering associated with platform improvements. Assess, prioritize and build server-side improvements in order to make the platform more reliable and ready for the wide spectrum of solutions onboarded;

  • Together with Product Managers execute a roadmap of a feature coverage of a platform in engineering areas. Develop scalable services that communicate with devices, customers, developers, and vendors: web-applications, third-party integrations, data transformations, data visualization, dashboarding and export;

  • Propose new initiatives and improvements to the tools and in-house frameworks, design and develop tools to optimize support QA, deployment, and support;

  • Problem-solve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or STEM;

  • Experience in designing and building commercial cloud services with a strong emphasis on scalability, availability and reliability;

  • Familiarity with PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS technologies;

  • Experience with foundational cloud services for storage, computation, event processing, messaging, data processing, and analytics with a high preference for Amazon Web Services (AWS);

  • Experience in configuring, troubleshooting of Linux environment

  • Understanding of APIs, RESTful services, experience with JSON, YAML and related notational data representations;

  • Knowledge of NoSQL solutions (AWS Dynamo DB, Cassandra, MongoDB, Azure Tablestorage, etc) and unstructured data processing;

  • Software development experience with languages like Python, Java, or C++;

  • Highly collaborative, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong desire for continuous improvement


Considered as a plus:

  • Good Knowledge on UART, I2C, SPI, ADC etc

  • Hands-on experience on embedded system development;

  • Hands-on experience in working with Sensor Interfaces and calibration
